Debra and I started our business in 2009, clear that we wanted to have fun, travel together and make the world a better place through hospitality design. I am energised by creative solutions and believe in better business through creativity. I am constantly curious about hospitality operations and workings of the industry. I am a travel junkie and a plane spotter!
I believe that the interiors of a place should be tactile, layered and designed for maximum comfort and sensuality. I believe in creating comfortable spaces, that speak to a sense of place. When I design it all starts with the guest, what they will experience and how they will feel when in these spaces. Through it all, I always maintain a sense of humour in my design!
Since we started our business, we have been lucky enough to be internationally recognised for our work, winning numerous awards and accolades. We are proud of what we have managed to create and so grateful for all the amazing opportunities we have had.
Before starting Fox Browne, I was the Creative Director for andBeyond, where I created the aesthetic of the andBeyond brand across all guest touch points for fifteen years. We were part of the team that built the company form 4 lodges to 40 lodges. In my role, I had the opportunity to work in 9 countries across Africa, India, UK, USA, Latin and South America.
During that time, I designed and opened about 50 award-winning lodges across Africa and India. I discovered, sourced and explored both extensively. I was voted one of the top 50 hotel designers in the world by Andrew Martin for four years running. My work was featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Decoration (French and UK), House and Garden and more and I was ranked as best Small Hotel Designer in the world by Travel & Leisure.
The opportunities and experiences I have been fortunate to have had, have shaped my view of the world.
