We focused everything around the incredible views of the Masai Mara plains and chose a subtle savannah inspired palette as well as a simple design concept that would not date.
THE BRIEF
Fox Browne Creative has had a long relationship with this property and was delighted to lead the entire redevelopment of this East African Safari icon. We had to rebuild 28 tents and a new guest area that could cater to large groups and individual travellers alike.
We worked with Nicholas Plewman Architects, based in South Africa, and Michaelis Boyd Architects, based in London.
THE INSPIRATION
For this award-winning lodge, we focused everything around the incredible views of the Masai Mara plains and chose a subtle savannah inspired palette as well as a simple design concept that would not date. We endeavoured to follow a strictly “made in Kenya” policy on all FF&E items.
THE RESULT
The Tents are spacious., light and comfortable. The guest areas were designed in order to be flexible and modular depending on guest movements. We designed food concepts and menus to celebrate the bounty of their Shamba (Swahili for vegetable garden) which forms the heart of the guest area. The tents all have incredible views of the savannah and forest.
