Taj Safaris - Pashan Garh – Panna National Park

Given the vibrant colour palettes of Mahua Kothi and Baghvan, we felt that we needed to have a more restrained colour palette focussing more on textures.

THE BRIEF

Our brief was to create a twelve-roomed lodge in the region that would compliment the rest of the Indian safari circuit that was being developed at the time. This was the first greenfield site in the Taj Safaris portfolio.

THE INSPIRATION

The Panna region is known for its particular style of stone masonry. The haphazard slate roofs are very unique to this part of Madhya Pradesh. Given the vibrant colour palettes of Mahua Kothi and Baghvan, we felt that we needed to have a more restrained colour palette focussing more on textures.

The nearby temples of Khajuraho inspired the carved panels subtly placed on the veranda gazebos.

THE RESULT

The overall feel is rustic, raw and glamorous with suites laid out over a large area all with dramatic views of the surrounding wilderness.
