THE BRIEF
The brief was to turn this small traditional thatch safari lodge into a sole-use family lodge with four bush cottages, that could be used as a home away from home for guests.
THE INSPIRATION
The existing thatch and stone architecture was the starting point, and the addition of new bathrooms with free-standing bathtubs set in a circular stone bath chamber gave the small rondavels a sense of luxury. The deep blue references the Indian Ocean nearby.
THE RESULT
A lovely comfortable lodge where families and friends can connect in the generous sitting room overlooking an active watering hole.
