MULANGA MADIMA | INTERIOR DESIGN

My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour, and some style.
— Maya Angelou

After obtaining my master's degree in interior design at the University of Johannesburg, I crossed paths with Fox Browne Creative and I am thrilled to be an interior designer on the team. My current role involves various aspects of the design process, from conceptualising through to technical design detailing, schedules, and coordination with various stakeholders to deliver the inspired spaces for which Fox Browne Creative is known. My valuable software skills have also allowed me to play an important role in sharing new skills with the team and shaping our systems.

Being introduced to various aspects of hospitality design and processes has been an exciting journey. Currently, I am involved in two pioneering projects in Kenya and Namibia, with the Namibia project encompassing four lodges across different regions. As I continue to grow within Fox Browne Creative, I look forward to contributing valuable interior design input to our projects.

Thus far in my career, besides obtaining my undergraduate and BTech degrees at Tshwane University of Technology, and completing my master's degree in interior design at the University of Johannesburg with distinction, specializing in contemporary African design expressions, I have also worked in the retail and corporate design sectors. In my free time, I lecture first-year interior design students.

What inspires me is the progression and celebration of the African continent, particularly its rich and vast artistic expressions across the diaspora.
